Vancouver Island owned and operated, the Atlas Group was founded in 1999 by Hadi Abassi, a mechanical engineer with an extensive background in the BC building industry. Supported by a talented team of managers and employees who share his vision of quality and customer service, today we have more than 100 staff, operate a state-of-the-art production facility on a three-acre site in Nanaimo, BC and have our marketing office in Central Nanaimo.

At Atlas, we don’t have customers – we have partners. Since the first truss rolled out of our shop, we’ve been committed to designing and building outstanding products and developing strong relationships within the Vancouver Island construction industry and beyond. We have extended this philosophy to all of the Atlas Group member businesses. We believe that when our partners succeed, so do we.

Our knowledgeable sales staff is fully conversant with the specialized needs of today’s fast-paced building industry and excel at working closely with architects, engineers and contractors.

We constantly monitor technology trends in computer hardware, software, production and control equipment to maintain the highest standards of quality and efficiency. And our fleet of four modern, specialized crane-equipped delivery trucks and other vehicles ensures that customers in any corner of Vancouver Island can count on fast and reliable delivery.

The quality and dedication of the people who make up the Atlas Group have played a large role in our success. Over time, our employees have become the most experienced on Vancouver Island — and our products show it. We’re fortunate to have so many long-serving employees who recognize that our “promote-from-within” policy rewards loyalty and provides a stable career in a growing organization.

We build more than trusses, joists and beams – we help build communities. In addition to our support for many worthwhile charities in our area, we’re part of the Vancouver Island Raiders management team. The Canadian Junior Football league is a great vehicle for providing new opportunities and possibilities for young men, and we’re honoured to be a part of it.

We’re also proud of our membership in the Western Wood Truss Association of BC, which is comprised of manufacturers actively engaged in the production of metal gusset plated wood trusses.The WWTA’s comprehensive Quality Certification Program is the product of years of accumulated knowledge of many individuals within the industry.
